Whilst living in Indonesia, we discovered the traditional medicinal drink, Jamu. Its origins can be traced back thousands of years as an elixir used to treat infectious diseases, strengthen the immune system, reduce inflammation and fight bacteria. It’s proven so beneficial, that nowadays the name has come to mean ‘magic formula’.
Although there’s no unique recipe and each family has its own secret combination of ingredients, Indonesian Jamu usually includes turmeric, ginger, lemon and other naturally sourced botanical ingredients including bark, herbs, leaves, flowers and seeds.
When it came to creating our new range of products, we knew from the start that we wanted to harness the healing power of plants and that botanicals would play an important part of our own magic formula. Everything we make will always be actively nourishing, naturally. It’s one of our product promises. So the name Jamu seemed fitting.
As for Wild Water… well the ‘water’ bit is pretty obvious. Wild is because it’s where we’re happiest: outdoors, immersed in nature!
